Middle School Math Club

Middle School Math Club is started in January of each school year. Once started, the club meets weekly. After the first meeting, needs and wants for the semester are determined. One of the popular activities is building a scale model of a house. This project allows students to draw up a blue print of a home, and then create the home with foam board. The students are not allowed to use pre--made items, they use creativity and use a variety of materials. This project takes approximately 3 months to complete. The Math Club participants are also encouraged to participate in the MCTM Math Contest and other contest held in local areas. |
